Who this is
This website is operated by Ashley Payne Systems Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17463066 and its registered office at 9 Field View, Braintree, Essex, CM7 4FF, based in the United Kingdom, and that is who the data controller is for anything described here. For anything on this page, write to [email protected].
The short version
This site counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics and does nothing else with you. The counting sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. There is no advertising and no tracking pixel, and nothing is sold or shared.
That is a deliberate choice and not an oversight, and everything below is the detail behind it.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It is one script, loaded from Cloudflare, the same company that serves this site. It records the page, the site that referred you, your browser and operating system, your country, and how quickly the page loaded. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you from one visit to the next or across other sites. There is nothing for you to consent to and no banner to dismiss, and I chose it for that reason.
What is stored in your browser
One item, and only if you use it. Choosing dark or light theme saves that choice in localStorage under ap-theme, so the site does not flash the wrong colour next time. It never leaves your device and it is not a cookie.
If you click to load the booking calendar, that choice is remembered for the browser session only.
Under the UK privacy rules, storage that is strictly necessary for something you asked for does not require a consent banner. That is why there is no banner here: there is nothing to consent to until you ask for the calendar.
If you contact me
The contact form submits your name, email, optional company, your message and which page of this site you came to the form from, to Formspree, a form-processing service, which stores the submission and passes it to me by email. Nothing is sent until you press send, and the form page itself loads nothing from them. Formspree is based in the United States, so what you send may be processed outside the UK.
My email is hosted by Google Workspace, which stores messages on my behalf and may process them outside the UK under the safeguards in its terms.
When you do email me, I keep what you send for as long as we are in touch, and for six years after our last contact, for tax, accounting and legal claims. I review what I hold once a year and delete what is no longer needed. The lawful basis is that you asked me to: it is the step before a contract, and where no contract follows it is my legitimate interest in answering the people who write to me. I do not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
The booking calendar
The booking calendar is provided by Calendly and is not loaded until you click to load it. Until you do, Calendly receives nothing and sets nothing. If you load it, Calendly sets its own cookies and receives the details you enter to book.
The AI connector
This site publishes an MCP server so you can connect it to your own AI assistant. It is read-only and it has no sign-in. It serves the same public content the website does.
I do not see your conversation. Your assistant holds that, under your AI provider’s terms and not mine. What does reach my server is the specific request your assistant makes: which tool it called, and the arguments it sent. Two of those tools take free text, so if you describe your business to the fit checker, that description reaches my server.
None of it is written down. The server keeps no database, no session and no log of tool arguments, so a request is answered and gone. The hosting layer in front of it sees the connecting IP address for rate limiting, the same as any website. Since it is free text and I cannot control what an assistant sends, do not put personal details, customer data or anything confidential into it. Tell it the shape of the problem, not the names.
Hosting and server logs
The site and the connector are served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and defend it from abuse, and which applies the rate limit on the connector. That is a legitimate interest and it is normal for any website. I do not use those logs to build a picture of you.
Cloudflare is a US company that serves this site from data centres around the world, so the request that fetches a page may be handled outside the UK. It processes that traffic under its standard terms, which include the UK addendum to the international data transfer safeguards. What you send through the contact form goes to Formspree, as described above.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask what I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask me to correct or delete it, ask me to restrict what I do with it, ask for it in a portable form, or object to my holding it. Email me and I will action it within a month. Given the above there is rarely anything to send you.
If you think I have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this site gains analytics, a form service or another embed, this page changes on the same day and the change appears in the date beside the top of this notice.
